Baltic Rescue – Match & Track 

is an environmental puzzle game where you use your logic to help save the Baltic Sea. 

Baltic Rescue – Match & Track is a tile-matching puzzle game designed to show of the connection between human activities, environmental pressures and the health of the Baltic Sea. Easy to pick up and suitable for all ages, the game can be played on both desktop or mobile devices.

As you explore the Baltic Sea, you’ll…

• identify environmental pressures caused by human actions
• match clues to understand cause-effect relationships
• discover real solutions (measures) to achieve the outcome, a healthier Baltic Sea

The game includes six unique Baltic Sea locations (Kattegat, the Southern Baltic, the open Baltic, the Gulf of Finland, the Landsort Deep, the Bothnian Bay), each focusing on a specific topic (biodiversity, sea-based activities, hazardous substances and litter, eutrophication, non-indigenous species, climate change).

Each location also features a representative species (harbour porpoise, blue mussel, white-tailed sea eagle, Baltic cod, Saduria entomon, ringed seal), helping players understand the complex interactions between human activities, pressures and measures. 

Project background

The game has been developed as part of the HOLAS to All -project in collaboration with Part of Noise Games. The project is funded by the Nordic Council of Ministers.

Baltic Rescue – Match & Track is available free of charge on the itch.io platform and downloadable in the app stores on Apple App Store and Google Play.
